If you require a Visa to study in the UK you will need to apply for this before you leave your home country. It is your responsibility to make sure you have a valid visa and have met all of the Home Office requirements. There are 2 types of student visa for studying in the UK: short-term student visas and Tier 4 student visas. If you are coming for more than 6 months you will need to apply for a Tier 4 Visa. Bexhill 6th Form College is a sponsor for Tier 4 (General) and Tier 4 (Child). Please use the links below for all visa information.
You need to have received a Confirmation of Acceptance to Study (CAS) from the College before you are able to apply for a visa, so please allow plenty of time for us to process your application and then for the Home Office to process your visa. We advise that you apply for your visa at least two months before your course is due to start as some students are disappointed when they are accepted for a place at College then do not have enough time to get their visa. In order for your visa to be processed you will need to prove that you are able to pay your fees and fund your living costs whilst studying. We will need evidence of this when you apply to study at Bexhill College. We will also need evidence of your level of English Language.
Please ensure you are aware of all the visa requirements for entry into the UK prior to applying. The following websites will help you with this:
UKVI home www.gov.uk/government/organisations/uk-visas-and-immigration
Student guide to studying in the UK www.ukcisa.org.uk
In order for your application to be processed, we need to know how good you are at English.
This is partly for visa purposes and partly so that we can be sure you will be able to cope in your classes at Bexhill 6th Form College. You will need to have at least IELTS Level 5.5 to study Level 3 qualifications at Bexhill 6th Form College (which is equivalent to B2). The test can be taken at a secure test center as detailed on the UKVI website. These are accessible in any country and cover speaking, listening, reading and writing the English language. You will need to send us proof of your level of English, along with your application form, to enable us to issue you with a CAS. If your English is not yet at this standard, you may need to enroll on our Level 3 preparation course For more information about our courses please click here.
