Course content:

Level 2

  • Functional Skills in Literacy; Numeracy and ICT at Level 1, (Unless you hold the relevant certificates or GCSEs A* to D in these subjects)
  • Relevant occupational qualification at Level 2
  • Employers Rights and Responsibilities

Level 3

  • Functional Skills in Literacy; Numeracy and ICT at Level 2, (Unless you hold the relevant certificates or GCSEs A* to C in these subjects)
  • Relevant occupational qualification at Level 3
  • Employers Rights and Responsibilities

What is an Apprenticeship?

An apprenticeship is a work based qualification that gives you the opportunity to earn money while developing your skills. As an Apprentice at Bexhill College you will be assigned your individual assessor who will train and support you throughout the duration of your Apprenticeship. You will be in a placement for 30 hours a week, with guided learning hours depending on your chosen discipline.

How long do they last?

The length of an apprenticeship can vary depending on the qualification you are taking, but typically, they are 1 year and 1 day. You will be required to work a minimum of 30 hours a week.

What will I earn?

The current minimum salary for an Apprentice is £3.40 per hour, however some employers may pay more.

What do I get at the end of it?

You will achieve a nationally recognised qualification in your chosen discipline that is highly regarded by employers. Completing an apprenticeship scheme is also a positive enhancement for your CV. The majority of apprentices are given the opportunity to stay on with their employers, others use an apprenticeship as a platform for their future career but all will benefit from an apprenticeship.
